Cook this before you start the meatloaf. Worth making together

Rich Coffee Sauce

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 1 Cups

Ingredients

  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • ¼ cup Water
  • ½ cup Tomato Sauce
  • ½ cup Red Wine can change for Beef Stock
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 T White Vinegar
  • 1 T Instant coffee
  • ¼ cup Brown Sugar
  • 30 g Margerine
  • 2 t Lemon Juice

Instructions

  • Sauté onion in margarine until tender and golden. Add all the remaining ingredients.
  • Bring slowly to the boil then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15min, till thick.

Notes

Taste as you go, you may want more bitterness, add more coffee or for a more wine richness, you can add more wine or stock.
This is a beautiful sauce that goes well on sandwiches, cooked with a meatloaf, dipping sauce with bread
